How Syridex Bio brought technologies, investors, and portfolio companies into one Notion OS

Syridex Bio launches companies from university technologies, but the work behind each opportunity was scattered across OneDrive, an unused CRM, and inboxes. Deals were moving, investors needed follow-up, and portfolio companies needed visibility. I built one Notion operating system for the venture studio: technology pipeline, investor funnel, task automation, SOPs, and portfolio dashboard.

A venture studio OS, from scattered files to one pipeline

THE PROBLEM

Syridex Bio was managing a complex venture-building process without one connected system. Two companies were already live and more were in diligence, but the supporting work was fragmented. University conversations, diligence documents, investment memos, investor relationships, consultant tasks, and portfolio updates all lived in different places. For a three-partner team building multiple companies, the lack of one source of truth made it harder to see what mattered next.

THE SOLUTION

I designed Notion as the operating system for the studio. The workspace includes a technology pipeline that moves from first university conversation through diligence, investment memo, and company launch. It also includes an investor funnel with stages and follow-up reminders, a place for SOPs and memo research, and a portfolio dashboard that rolls up value and progress per company. Workflow automation creates the full task checklist whenever a new technology enters the system, so the team does not have to rebuild the process from scratch every time.

THE PROCESS

We started with a discovery call to map the real venture-building workflow, especially the gating steps that mattered most, such as not moving a company forward without a finished investment memo. Then I turned the founder’s AI-drafted framework and 10-year strategy into a proper build specification, created a fast V1, and used a structured feedback call to refine the workspace around how the partners actually operate.

THE RESULT

Syridex Bio now has one workspace for technology deals, investor relationships, and portfolio visibility. Each new technology can trigger its own task checklist automatically. Each investor has a clear stage and follow-up reminder. Each company can be tracked from a shared dashboard, giving the partners a cleaner way to manage both today’s work and the long-term portfolio.
