How Al Medina turned one book into an automated content engine

Author Al Medina needed more than a book launch checklist. He needed a way to turn the ideas inside the book into consistent, credible marketing, without hiring a full content team or spending every week buried in research, writing, and publishing. I built a Notion-based launch headquarters connected to AI and Make.com automations, so the book could become the source of a repeatable content system.

THE PROBLEM

Launching a book as a solo author meant too many moving parts at once: research, social posts, contacts, launch assets, deadlines, and publishing tasks all competing for attention. The biggest bottleneck was content. Every post required the same manual cycle: choose a topic, connect it back to the book, find relevant scientific research, write the post, then publish it. That process was too heavy to repeat consistently, especially without a marketing team. Al needed a system that could protect the quality of the message while removing the repetitive work behind it.

THE SOLUTION

I turned Notion into the central launch workspace, with connected databases for the marketing calendar, content pipeline, contacts, assets, book structure, and launch tasks. The key move was mapping the book itself into structured Notion databases: chapters, scenes, topics, and subtopics. That gave the AI agent clean source material to work from instead of generating generic content or spending thousands of credits looking for the right chapters and topics. Then I connected Make.com automations to monitor credible scientific research sources through RSS, collect relevant articles, and store them inside Notion. From there, the Content Repurposing Agent built using Notion Custom Agents, combines book material with fresh research to generate 10 social posts per week, ready for automated Instagram publishing. Without forgetting the "Author's voice" which is a stricit writing style we extracted from the book so any Agent can write exactly like the author. I also built a simple Notion landing page to act as the MVP version of the author website, giving the launch one central public destination.

THE PROCESS

We started by mapping the launch strategy and identifying the repeated work that could be systemized. Then I built the core Notion workspace first, followed by the AI content system, research automation, publishing workflow, and landing page. The project included live demos and more than six hours of hands-on training, so Al could run the full launch system independently after delivery.

THE RESULT

Al now has a launch system that produces consistent, research-backed content every week from one workspace. The system generates 10 social posts per week and removes the manual research and writing cycle behind each one. Using a conservative estimate of 1 hour to plan and write each post, plus 30 minutes to find and review scientific research, the automation saves at least 15 hours per week, about 65 hours per month or 780 hours per year. Instead of managing a launch through scattered tasks and manual publishing, one person can now run the book platform from a single Notion dashboard.
